Using the Rich Text Editor, Images, Tables, and Code Blocks

Master the Modern Blogging editor: structured headings, keyboard shortcuts, WebP image uploads, callout boxes, data tables, syntax-highlighted code, and draft previews.

The Modern Blogging editor is built for long-form publishing. You can write directly in the visual canvas or paste formatted content from Google Docs, Notion, or Markdown editors with clean semantic HTML output.

Text Formatting and Heading Hierarchy

Use the top toolbar or standard keyboard shortcuts to format text. Maintain a logical heading hierarchy — start top-level sections with H2 and nested subsections with H3. Avoid using H1 inside the article body because the post title is already rendered as the page H1.

Uploading Inline and Cover Images

Every image uploaded through the editor or cover uploader is automatically stripped of sensitive EXIF metadata, converted to WebP, and served from Cloudflare R2 with immutable edge caching.

  • Cover Image: Upload in the right-hand sidebar. Always provide descriptive Alt Text for accessibility and image search indexing, plus an optional caption and photo credit.
  • Inline Images: Click the Image button in the editor toolbar or drag and drop an image file directly into the editor canvas.

Tables, Callouts, and Code Blocks

  • Tables: Insert a table from the toolbar to compare specifications, pricing, or benchmarks. Use the context bar above an active table to add or remove rows and columns.
  • Callout Boxes: Highlight important notes, tips, or warnings using Info, Tip, or Warning callout blocks.
  • Code Blocks: Insert syntax-highlighted code snippets with language selection for technical tutorials.
  • Side-by-Side Blocks: Place text alongside media or comparison columns on desktop screens.

Draft Autosave, Preview, and Publishing

As you type, the editor saves your work to a private draft without modifying the live published version of the article. When a post has unpublished edits, click Preview in the top bar to inspect the draft on your blog layout. Click Publish when you are ready for visitors to see your updates.
